Digitalisation shapes everyday life and creates ever more IT applications and new career fields in almost every sector. So that girls and young women can actively help shape this diverse world of IT, the transfer programme "Girls' Digital Camps" brings engaging digital topics straight into practice.
Funded by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Tourism of Baden-Württemberg, the programme is aimed specifically at female students in grades 6 to 10. The primary goal of the camps is to give the girls concrete insights into digital career fields and, through hands-on experience, to lastingly strengthen their confidence in handling modern technology.
"The camps teach foundational programming skills and a first look at app development, so that participants not only understand how digital applications work but can also creatively realise their own ideas."
From app development to the robot show
The offerings of the Girls' Digital Camps aim to show participants how versatile, creative and socially relevant digital applications are. The current course catalogue ranges from courses such as "Digital Communication" through creative modules like "Snap, art through coding" to robotics activities such as the "Dash talent show".
To ensure broad accessibility, the courses take place both online and in person. Many of these hands-on in-person events are run by the cooperation partner didaktik-aktuell e.V. directly on the premises of the Future Lab STEM.

The Girls' Digital Camps are funded by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Tourism of the State of Baden-Württemberg.
