Heidelberg, 10 February 2026. Whether 3D printing, programming personal apps or bringing robots to life: from 11 February 2026, the Future Lab STEM turns into an open space for personal projects every Wednesday from 4 to 6 pm.
The new format "STEM Wednesday" creates a free space in which fixed curricula are not the focus, but rather the participants' own ideas and creativity. The concept is as simple as it gets: joining is possible at any time. Whether an experienced pro or an absolute beginner, anyone with time and curiosity can drop by and get started.

Pure tech: from Snap! to the microcontroller
The future lab's modern equipment is fully available to the young innovators. Those who want to create digital worlds or apps use the visual programming language Snap!. For hardware enthusiasts, modern microcontrollers and Dash robots are ready to build real, tangible prototypes.
The concept aims to foster essential future skills. At its centre are the "4 Cs": creativity, communication, critical thinking and collaboration. When a project gets stuck, participants learn to overcome obstacles together through active problem-solving.
