Heidelberg, February 10, 2026 – Whether it's 3D printing, programming your own apps, or bringing robots to life: Starting February 11, 2026, the Future Lab STEM (Zukunftslabor MINT) will transform into an open space for independent projects every Wednesday from 4 PM to 6 PM.

With the new "STEM Wednesday" format, we are creating a free space where strict curricula are not the focus, but rather the participants' own ideas and creativity. The concept is quite simple: You can join at any time. Whether you are a true pro or an absolute beginner – anyone with time and interest can just drop by and get started.

"With the Future Lab STEM, we want to anchor IT as broadly and sustainably as possible in the current fields of application for natural sciences and technology. STEM Wednesday is the perfect space to learn IT skills purely through curiosity and experimentation."

Pure tech: From Snap! to Microcontrollers

The modern equipment of the Future Lab is fully available to the young innovators. Those who want to create digital worlds or apps can use the visual programming language Snap!. For hardware enthusiasts, modern microcontrollers and Dash robots are ready to build real, tangible prototypes.

The concept aims to foster essential future skills. The focus here is on the "4 Cs": Creativity, Communication, Critical Thinking, and Collaboration. When a project hits a snag, participants learn to actively solve problems and overcome obstacles together.
